Why Nokia, why? Nokia has done such a wonderful job with Maemo, I'm surprised and disappointed that they've chosen Windows to power their Booklet 3G netbook.
The device was only announced today, so perhaps we'll hear more about a linux version soon.
Based upon the success of the Amazon Kindle, I have to imagine that Apple is going to come out with an e-book reader of their own.
I'm guessing that like the iPhone, it will be an e-book reader on steroids, allowing it to do so much more than allow people to read e-books. I bet it will be some sort of tablet device, with handwriting recognition as well as a keypad - maybe a virtual keypad like the iphone?
The cool thing for Apple will be that it could tie into their digital delivery marketplace, joining the successful ranks of iTunes and the iPhone app store.
What do you think? Will we see it today?
Today my parents (in Hingham) and I (in Bethesda) used Google Talk to have a video conference with my one year old daughter. It was great fun, but it did take some troubleshooting on my part to get my ASUS Eee PC Webcam working with Windows XP.
I tried tracking down a driver, and then even tried to install an external webcam. Finally I figured out that the webcam device was disabled in the computer's BIOS. I rebooted, pressed F2, and then it worked fine.
I've used iChat for video conferencing before and the quality was much better. I'm going to try and tweak the settings to make the video quality better.
